SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1036
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  David M. Braun
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of David M. Braun, who died February 21,
  2015, at the age of 59; and
         WHEREAS, David Braun was born August 17, 1955, in
  Cleveland, Ohio; he graduated from the University of
  Houston--Clear Lake in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in business
  administration; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Braun enjoyed a successful career in sales
  before joining the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership in 2005
  as a project engineer for the Space Alliance Technology Outreach
  Program; he went on to serve the partnership as an aerospace
  marketing manager, and he played an important role in the success
  of such initiatives as Citizens for Space Exploration Texas and
  the Aerospace Advisory Committee; in addition, he worked hard to
  help convince Congress of the need for the passage of the
  Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act of 2014; and
         WHEREAS, He was active in a wide range of community
  affairs, most notably as a four-term member of the Nassau Bay
  City Council, where he was instrumental in the redevelopment of
  the city's commercial district; he coordinated relief efforts in
  the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, and he worked tirelessly to help
  employees of the Johnson Space Center as they dealt with the
  space program's significant changes; and
         WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced his faith in his
  dailylife,Mr.BraunwasamemberofSaintPaulCatholicChurch,
 
  where he served as a religious education teacher and as a member
  of the Building Committee; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to
  share in his life; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
  countless friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of David M. Braun; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of David Braun.
