SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 2015, That Senate Rule 12.03 be |
|
|
suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the |
|
|
conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on |
|
|
House Bill 2968 (preservation of the Alamo complex and |
|
|
surrounding area and to the Alamo Preservation Advisory Board) to |
|
|
consider and take action on the following matter: |
|
|
Senate Rule 12.03(4) is suspended to permit the committee |
|
|
to add text on a matter not included in either the house or senate |
|
|
version of the bill by adding, in proposed SECTION 2 of the bill, |
|
|
Section 31.455(b), Natural Resources Code, as follows: |
|
|
(b) The advisory board is composed of: |
|
|
(1) the commissioner or the commissioner's |
|
|
designee, who serves as the presiding officer of the advisory |
|
|
board; |
|
|
(2) a designee appointed by the governor; |
|
|
(3) a representative of the Alamo Endowment, |
|
|
appointed by the commissioner [the president general of the
|
|
|
Daughters of the Republic of Texas]; |
|
|
(4) the director of the Alamo [current Alamo
|
|
|
chairperson of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas]; |
|
|
(5) [the immediate past Alamo chairperson of the
|
|
|
Daughters of the Republic of Texas;
|
|
|
[(6)] the Alamo curator; |
|
|
(6) [(7)] one representative of the Texas |
|
|
Historical Commission; |
|
|
(7) a designee appointed by the county judge of |
|
|
[(8) the president of the] Bexar County [Historical
|
|
|
Commission]; [and] |
|
|
(8) a designee appointed by the mayor [(9)
one
|
|
|
representative who serves as a member] of the City of San |
|
|
Antonio; [Office of Historic Preservation] |
|
|
(9) a designee appointed by the commissioner |
|
|
representing the local travel and tourism industry and the |
|
|
businesses and landholders from the area immediately surrounding |
|
|
the Alamo complex; |
|
|
(10) one member of the house of representatives |
|
|
appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; and |
|
|
(11) one senator appointed by the lieutenant |
|
|
governor. |
|
|
Explanation: The change is necessary to alter the |
|
|
composition of the Alamo Preservation Advisory Board for the |
|
|
preservation of the Alamo complex. |

|

|
|
