SENATE RESOLUTION
         BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, Regular Session, 2015, That Senate Rule 12.03 be
  suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the
  conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on
  House Bill 2968 (preservation of the Alamo complex and
  surrounding area and to the Alamo Preservation Advisory Board) to
  consider and take action on the following matter:
         Senate Rule 12.03(4) is suspended to permit the committee
  to add text on a matter not included in either the house or senate
  version of the bill by adding, in proposed SECTION 2 of the bill,
  Section 31.455(b), Natural Resources Code, as follows:
         (b)  The advisory board is composed of:
               (1)  the commissioner or the commissioner's
  designee, who serves as the presiding officer of the advisory
  board;
               (2)  a designee appointed by the governor;
               (3)  a representative of the Alamo Endowment,
  appointed by the commissioner [the president general of the
  Daughters of the Republic of Texas];
               (4)  the director of the Alamo [current Alamo
  chairperson of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas];
               (5)  [the immediate past Alamo chairperson of the
  Daughters of the Republic of Texas;
               [(6)]  the Alamo curator;
               (6) [(7)]  one representative of the Texas
  Historical Commission;
               (7)  a designee appointed by the county judge of
  [(8)  the president of the] Bexar County [Historical
  Commission]; [and]
               (8)  a designee appointed by the mayor [(9)     one
  representative who serves as a member] of the City of San
  Antonio; [Office of Historic Preservation]
               (9)  a designee appointed by the commissioner
  representing the local travel and tourism industry and the
  businesses and landholders from the area immediately surrounding
  the Alamo complex;
               (10)  one member of the house of representatives
  appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; and
               (11)  one senator appointed by the lieutenant
  governor.
         Explanation: The change is necessary to alter the
  composition of the Alamo Preservation Advisory Board for the
  preservation of the Alamo complex.
