IN RE:
HB66 by González, Mary (relating to the consideration of the performance of students of limited English proficiency on state assessment instruments and inclusion of related information in campus report cards.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would prohibit the Commissioner of Education from lowering an accountability performance rating based on unsatisfactory performance of limited English proficient students for a period of two years after the students' initial enrollment in a school in the United States.
This analysis assumes that any additional costs to the Texas Education Agency could be absorbed within existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
