No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to report to the Governor and the Legislature any attempt by the federal government to implement certain sections of the 2012 and 2014 National Defense Authorization Acts through DPS or another state agency.
This bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote of all the members elected to each chamber. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
