IN RE:	HB207 by Leach (relating to creating the offense of voyeurism; providing a penalty.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of voyeurism.  Under the provisions of the bill, voyeurism would be punishable at various offense levels with the punishment increasing in severity based on the specific circumstances of the offense. This analysis assumes implementing the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.

Local Government Impact

Costs associated with enforcement, prosecution, and confinement could likely be absorbed with existing resources. Revenue from fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact. In addition, punishment for a Class C misdemeanor can include up to 180 days of deferred disposition.
