No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Election Code to prohibit a person from being appointed as a campaign treasurer of a general-purpose committee if the person has a civil penalty imposed on them by the Ethics Commission within the prior two years. The Ethics Commission anticipates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
