No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would set up a trust fund outside the state treasury as a revolving loan fund to fund grocery stores and healthy corner stores. The fund would be held and administered by a community development financial institution chosen by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).It is assumed the fund would be composed of gifts and grants from private and public sources. TDA estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.
