No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend portions of the Parks and Wildlife Code relating to civil liability for volunteers. The bill would grant agency volunteers immunity from civil liability arising from damages occurring while operating a motor-driven vehicle or motor-driven equipment when acting within the scope of assigned duties. The Parks and Wildlife Department would be required to compensate successful claimants for such damages out of existing funds.
Based on the analysis of the Parks and Wildlife Department, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
Local Government Impact
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
