March 18, 2015

TO:

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB331 by Wu (Relating to the sealing of certain court documents filed electronically in a child protection suit.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to require a court in a child protection suit to consider electronically submitted documents in the same manner as any other document filed with the court.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
