No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize the abolishment of a building permit fee on the 10th anniversary date that the fee was adopted unless the municipality that adopted the fee holds a public hearing on the reauthorization of the fee and reauthorizes the fee by a majority vote of the governing body. The bill provides a definition of "building permit fee".
