No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to the coverage by certain health benefit plans of mammograms performed by certain health care providers.
Based on information provided by the Teacher Retirement System, Employees Retirement System, Texas Department of Insurance, Texas A&M University System Administration, and the University of Texas System Administration, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities necessary to implement the provisions of the bill could be accomplished within existing staff and resources.
The bill takes effect September 1, 2015; however, any changes in law made by the bill apply only to a health benefit plan that is delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed on or after January 1, 2016. Any plans issued prior to January 1, 2016 are covered by law as it exists at the time the health benefit plan is delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed.
