HB454 by Krause (Relating to the waiting period for a divorce on the grounds of insupportability.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to prohibit, in certain circumstances, judicial grants of divorce within 180 days of the filing of the suit for dissolution. The change in law would apply only to suits for dissolution of marriage filed on or after the bill's effective date.

The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the state court system resulting from the bill.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal impact to local courts is anticipated.
