IN RE:
HB465 by Howard (Relating to the immunization data included in and excluded from the immunization registry.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code as it relates to the immunization data included in and excluded from the immunization registry. Under the provisions of the bill, the immunization registry would change from an opt-in registry, meaning a person's immunization information is not retained in the process unless the person or their legally authorized representative consents, to an opt-out registry, meaning that the information would be retained in the registry until there is a request for removal. The Department of State Health Services indicates that the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources. The bill has no direct fiscal implications for the Foundation School Program or the operations of the Texas Education Agency.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
