No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to allow former or retired judges who have served as judges on more than two district, statutory probate, statutory county, or appellate courts for at least 48 months to be eligible to serve as a visiting judge. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
