No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Texas Government Code as it relates to state active duty military service. Under the provisions of the bill, claims of discrimination by military service members on state active duty would be exempt from the jurisdiction of the Texas Workforce Commission's civil rights division, and a member of the Texas Military Forces called to state active duty is subject to certain regulations established for continued military membership.

The Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Military Department anticipate no significant fiscal impact as the result of implementation of the bill.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
