No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to expand the accounts for which a person may bring suit against their partner for a settlement of partnership accounts to include credit card accounts and adds language that the cause of action accrues for a credit card account beginning on the 180th day after the date of the last payment on the account.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
