March 17, 2015

TO:
Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation

IN RE:
HB631 by Bonnen, Greg (Relating to the impersonation of a state agency website or an associated website; providing a criminal penalty.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to the impersonation of a state agency website or an associated website.  The bill would make creating or maintaining a fraudulent state agency web page a third degree felony. This analysis assumes implementing the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies, programs, or workloads.
