LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 6, 2015

TO:
Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB649 by McClendon (Relating to the disclosure to a state agency of certain information used or considered in the performance of a contract or agreement with the agency.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require state agencies to include in all contracts or agreements for goods or services a provision requiring a party to a contract, including subcontractors,  to disclose upon request to the agency any information used or considered in the performance of the contract regardless of whether the information is confidential under any other law. State agencies estimate that any costs resulting from implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
