Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB744 by Huberty (Relating to the purchase of certain insurance by public school districts.), As Engrossed
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would permit the board of trustees of a school district that elected to obtain insurance against bodily injuries sustained by students while training, engaged in interschool athletic completion, or engaged in school-sponsored activities to be expanded to coverage locations other than school campuses.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. School districts could incur additional costs to expand bodily injury insurance beyond school campuses, but these costs would be voluntary.
