No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Labor Code as it relates to the purchase of certain insurance coverage and the performance of related risk management services for certain university systems and the component institutions of those systems. Under the provisions of the bill, certain university systems and the component institutions would be exempt from the purchase of certain insurance coverage through State Office of Risk Management.  The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
