LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 19, 2015

TO:
Honorable Kevin Eltife, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB799 by Capriglione (Relating to a study conducted by the Legislative Budget Board on the impact to state agencies of federal regulations and mandates enacted by federal law.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would direct the Legislative Budget Board (LBB) to conduct a single study for each state agency on the effects to each agency of federal regulations and mandates enacted by federal law. The bill would specify what must be included in the study conducted for each agency. The bill would require the LBB to establish a schedule for the review of state agencies during interims between regular sessions of the Legislature and ensure that each agency is reviewed before September 1, 2027.  The bill would also require the LBB to deliver a report to the Legislature of its findings and recommendations for state agencies reviewed during that interim

This analysis assumes there would be minimal costs for the LBB associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
