No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to create a Class C misdemeanor for certain offenses under the section that relate to tires, brakes, and load securement and are a violation of certain federal regulations. The offense is punishable by a fine of $150 to $500.
Local Government Impact
There could be an increase of revenue from the establishment of a minimum fine amount; however, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
