No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to clarify that a person qualified to serve as a petit juror may establish an exemption from jury service if the person is the primary caretaker of a person that is unable to care for himself or herself. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
