April 27, 2015

TO:

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB877 by Bohac (Relating to creating the offense of intimidation by a member of a criminal street gang.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code by creating the offense of intimidation by a gang member.  Under the provisions of the bill, intimidation by a gang member would be punishable as a felony of the third degree. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
