LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 16, 2015

TO:
Honorable Carol Alvarado, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB897 by Rodriguez, Justin (Relating to the recording of a proceeding in a municipal court in San Antonio.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code by repealing a requirement that the city of San Antonio be required to provide a court reporter for the purposes of recording proceedings in a municipal court in San Antonio.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
