HB925 by Guillen (Relating to the balance maintained in a school district's general fund and associated requirements regarding the general fund.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require school districts to maintain a minimum balance in the district's general fund and annually publicly report the intended use of funds in excess of the specified percentage of the district's annual operating expenditures. Additionally, the bill would require the board of trustees of each school district to adopt a policy regarding the operation of the general fund and the minimum balance to be maintained by the district.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. There may be some administrative costs to districts to annually report plans for any amounts in excess of minimum required fund balances.
