IN RE:	HB943 by Thompson, Senfronia (Relating to the applicability of a wage and salary presumption to an incarcerated person for purposes of determining child support obligations.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to remove the minimum wage presumption for non-custodial parents under an order of confinement that exceeds 90 days for the purpose of establishing child support orders.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

The Office of the Attorney General and the Office of Court Administration indicate that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
