The bill would amend the Penal Code to provide a rebuttable presumption for someone committing an offense of interrupting, disrupting, or interfering with a peace officer while the officer is performing a duty or exercising authority imposed or granted by law. This presumption is that the actor has interfered with the officer if it is shown at trial that the actor intentionally disseminated the officer's personal, private, or confidential information.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
