No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to exempt firefighters who are permanent, paid employees of the fire department of a municipality or other authority providing firefighting services and for police officers who are permanent, paid employees of a municipality or county. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
