IN RE:
HB1136 by Israel (Relating to the creation of the Transportation Safety and Access Advisory Committee.), As Introduced

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to establish the Transportation Safety and Access Advisory Committee, composed of representatives appointed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS), the Department of State Health Services (DSHS), and various other organizations. The bill would require TxDOT to ensure that the representatives of the committee are appointed and to call the committee's first meeting no later than December 1, 2015. The bill would require the committee to study methods that TxDOT could use to improve safety and access for all users of state and federally funded transportation projects and to create and submit a report to TxDOT on the methods included in the study, not later than September 1, 2016. The committee would be abolished on January 1, 2017.
