LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 12, 2015

TO:
Honorable Tracy O. King, Chair, House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1202 by Muñoz, Jr. (relating to the creation of the community nutrition program policy advisory council.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Agriculture Code to create a community nutrition program policy advisory council. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) would be required to provide administration services to the council and reimburse 5 council members for an estimated four meetings each fiscal year. The agency estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill. The Sunset Advisory Commission indicates it can absorb the costs of a Sunset review in 2021 within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
