HB1204 by Dutton (Relating to requiring the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to provide notice to certain persons of the right to vote.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to provide notice and information, as described by the bill, to certain offenders of the right to vote. TDCJ indicates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
