No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to permit either justice of the peace or municipality courts to have jurisdiction over certain offenses related to the operation of overweight vehicles.

The Office of Court Administration reported no significant fiscal impact to the state court is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

There could be a reduction of caseload in some justice courts and a corresponding increase of caseload in municipal courts; however, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
