LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 3, 2015

TO:
Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1260 by King, Susan (Relating to creation by rule of the Department of Aging and Disability Services of a schedule of support services a state supported living center may provide and the applicable fee for those services.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to require the Department of Aging and Disability Services to create a schedule of support services that a state supported living center (SSLC) may provide and the applicable fee for those services. It is assumed that any cost associated with establishing a list of services and a fee schedule would not be significant and could be absorbed within the available resources of the agency. SSLCs already have the authority to provide services to certain persons residing in the community, but it is not known how current fees charged might differ from those established under the provisions of the bill or whether the list of services might be more or less extensive than what is currently available.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
