LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 14, 2015

TO:
Honorable Abel Herrero, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1375 by Thompson, Senfronia (Relating to creating a defense to revocation of parole, mandatory supervision, or community supervision for a person who travels through a child safety zone.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to create a defense to revocation for violation of the child safety zone parameters for certain offenders placed on parole, mandatory supervision or community supervision. The Office of Court Administration and Board of Pardons and Paroles indicate no significant fiscal impact is anticipated based on the provisions of the bill. This analysis assumes implementing the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies, programs, or workloads.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
