IN RE:
HB1566 by White, James (Relating to conditions of bond for defendants charged with certain offenses involving the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require that a defendant charged with driving while intoxicated to refrain from operating a motor vehicle in any public place pending the disposition of the case as a condition of release on bond. The bill would also authorize a magistrate to revoke the bond and order the defendant arrested if the defendant violates this condition. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
