TO:
Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs

IN RE:
HB1666 by Bonnen, Dennis (Relating to the liability of certain persons for damages arising from training exercises to prepare the persons to respond to certain emergencies.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to provide that emergency personnel are only liable for damages they caused during a training exercise to prepare for responding to emergencies to the same extent that these persons would be liable for causing damages in responding to an actual emergency. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources

Local Government Impact
