No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Secretary of State to assign each notary public an identifying number.
The Secretary of State indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
The bill would take effect January 1, 2016.
