HB1725 by Stephenson (Relating to the composition of local boards of the Texas Emergency Services Retirement System.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to allow local boards, or the political subdivision's governing body, to select retirees or beneficiaries to serve on the local board if there are not enough active members to serve. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds majority vote in each house. Otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
