FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1762 by Otto (Relating to the creation of a health care advocacy program for veterans.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish a health care advocacy program for veterans.  The Texas Veterans Commission currently administers this program and any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within the agency's current resources.  The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
