LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 28, 2015

TO:
Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1769 by Zerwas (Relating to prohibited resident admission requirements before certain inspections of an assisted living facility license applicant.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 247, Health and Safety Code to prohibit the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) from requiring that an assisted living facility license applicant admit a resident before DADS conducts an on-site health inspection. DADS indicates the bill could be implemented within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
