No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 102.0045 of the Family Code to authorize the sibling of a child separated by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to file an original suit requesting access to the child, regardless of the age of the sibling. The court would be required to expedite the suit.

DFPS anticipates no fiscal impact as a result of implementing this bill.

The Office of Court Administration anticipates no significant fiscal impact to the state court system resulting from this bill.

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal impact to local courts is anticipated.
