IN RE:
HB1804 by Naishtat (Relating to notice by campuses and open-enrollment charter schools about events that may significantly impact the education of certain foster children.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require campuses and open-enrollment charter schools, in addition to districts, to provide notifications to a foster child's educational decision-maker and caseworker about events that could significantly impact the education of the child.

The bill would have no direct fiscal implications for the operations of the Texas Education Agency or the Department of Family and Protective Services.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. There may be costs to districts and charters to provide the required notifications, but these costs are not anticipated to be significant.
