IN RE:
HB1835 by Sanford (Relating to a prohibition on converting certain segments or lanes of a state highway to toll projects or managed lanes.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to prohibit the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) from operating or transferring to another entity for operating an unrestricted or nontolled lane of a state highway as a managed lane. The bill would prohibit the TxDOT from operating a nontolled state highway or segment of a state highway as a toll project or transferring a nontolled state highway or segment to another entity for operation as a toll project.

Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the state.
