LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 24, 2015

TO:
Honorable Tracy O. King, Chair, House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1846 by King, Susan (relating to public comments on federal grants and contracts related to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 431 of the Health and Safety Code to require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to post a notice on its website regarding the grants and contracts it has requested from or entered into with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for implementing the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The bill would require DSHS to solicit and respond to public comments related to the grants and contracts. DSHS indicates that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
