No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Government Code to require the automatic expunction of arrest records and files with no assessment of fees related to expunction for a person who had a case dismissed as a result of the successful completion of a veterans court program. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
It is assumed the provisions of this bill would have no significant fiscal impact.
Local Government Impact
The bill would waive certain fees for expunction of records in the veterans court. There would a revenue loss to local governments; however, fiscal impact is not anticipated to be significant.
