FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 30, 2015

TO:
Honorable Angie Chen Button, Chair, House Committee on Economic & Small Business Development

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1991 by Blanco (Relating to qualifying projects for public-private partnerships.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the definition of a "qualifying project" for the purposes of Government Code 2267, which governs partnership agreements between public and private entities. Specifically, the bill would expand the definition to include convention center hotels or sports and community venue projects that have been approved under chapter 334 of the Local Government Code.

The number and scale of projects that would be affected by this legislation is not known. However, it is assumed that any fiscal impact from the legislation would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
