FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 28, 2015

TO:
Honorable Jim Keffer, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2051 by Crownover (Relating to a volume-based exemption from reporting requirements for certain accidental discharges or spills from wastewater facilities.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would provide a volume-based exemption from the reporting requirements for accidental discharges or spills. The bill would provide that single accidental discharges or spills at wastewater treatment facilities or collection facilities do not have to be reported to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) under certain circumstances. No significant impact to the TCEQ's workload is expected as a result of the bill's passage.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
