FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 28, 2015

TO:
Honorable John Zerwas, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2138 by Raney (Relating to the online publication of information regarding campus expenditures made by junior college districts.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

The bill would amend the Education Code relating to the online publication of information regarding campus expenditures made by junior college districts. Based on information provided from a sample of junior college districts, there could be costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill for junior college districts that currently do not track the information required by the provisions of the bill, including possible costs related to reprogramming or reformatting administrative and financial software used by the institutions. This analysis assumes these costs would be paid with institutional funds.
