FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2140 by Naishtat (Relating to the creation by the Department of Family and Protective Services of positions and organizations to facilitate the provision of services to foster youth.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to create regional youth specialist positions and one statewide position to manage and coordinate regional outreach to foster youth. The bill also creates the youth leadership council (council) and requires DFPS to seek input from the council prior to implementing any changes to any policy or procedures that impact children in foster care.
It is assumed that DFPS could absorb any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
